Hi all.
I need some help from goldwave users.
Untill now i was using adobe audition 3 and i am still using it at work.
Recently i bought a new laptop so i wanted to have a sound editor on it.
I tried the latest audition which is at version 6 now but it wasn't accessible in comparison to version 3 so i decided to give goldwave a try since it is the most affortable.
But the way goldwave plays and navigades with in a file is totally different from adobe audition so i am having difficulties editing sounds.
First i will have to explain to you how things work in audition so you can understand my difficulty.
In adobe audition playback always starts from the possition of the start marker. In other words it means that it either plays from the beginning or from the possition where i pressed left bracket.
If i stop playback in audition and i press the left or right arrow it moves slightly my starter marker.
With goldwave the arrow keys are not synchronised with playback and the left arrow instead of moving a few seconds back from the playing possition it goes to the beginning of the recording so it is difficult to find a place i want to delete.
I am sure this behaviour can be changed but no matter how many times i read the manual i didn't find the way to change this.
I know how to change the 3 play buttons but no matter what combinations i tried the arrow keys don't follow the playback.
If you could help me it would be nice. In general i liked the goldwave interface and all the effects dialogues are very accessible much better than audition but i am having this difficulty navigating arround.

if you are a jaws user, install the scripts and hit insert h for knowing all the keystrokes first. You're good to go after that. The scripts here below.

Thanks for the scripts info but i am a nvda user so they won't be much use to me.
I have got a jaws demo here so i might give them a try but i am using nvda most of the time.
How do I install the scripts? I just got GW 5.68 and the latest version of scrpts. I found a tutorial online but the guy was using XP and I'm using W7.
I'm all ready for my radio show launch tomorrow but wanted to make some quick sound effects so any help would be much appreciated.
I know I need to unzip the .zip file and copy and paste the scripts somewhere; I just don't know where.

Thanks for the scripts. ARe they for the newest version of GW
in order to change the way the cursor jumps you need too hit alt plus 1, 2, 3, 4 to change the timing. Also, if you hit control plus E it will take you into the markers where you can set a marker to a certain part of a file where you can then copy/delete etc.
Had no idea there were scripts - have been using gw for years without.
